Islington Motor Group are delighted to take the business forward and continue to operate as a Ford dealership under the new name of Westbury Ford.
The Elkins name has been synonymous with Westbury and the surrounding area for well over 100 years. The business was originally started by Herbert Elkins in 1906, repairing bicycles and later run by his son, Stanley who introduced early motorised vehicles. Then more recently by Michael Elkins. Peter started with the company in 1969 serving petrol and washing cars after school, taking a full-time role in 1980 with his brother Andrew.
The motor industry has rapidly evolved recently with electrification bringing the biggest change seen in the industry for 50 years. Peter Elkins made the decision to sell the assets of the business
Having known Peter and the Elkins and the team personally for many years, we are pleased to be working alongside them to ensure a seamless transition to minimise the disruption to our customers after the official changes on the 1st of March 2022.
